Peggy Maslanka, ADHD Coach

Peggy Maslanka, ADHD Coach Peggy Maslanka is a passionate and imaginative problem-solver, advocate and action-oriented ADHD Coach who works with clients to improve quality of life, academic and work performance. Peggy helps her clients take advantage of the creative and productive sides of ADHD while assisting in improving executive functioning skills in areas such as planning, time management, prioritizing, organizing, inattention, social skills and impulse control. 

Given her passion for helping people with ADHD, Peggy is fully aware that many of those suffering from the disorder also have co-morbid mental health concerns, including difficulties with anxiety, substance abuse problems and depression. She is able to work with people who are struggling with ADHD in a variety of settings and under numerous conditions. Peggy has a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings working with clients who struggle with ADHD and other executive functioning concerns as well as other conditions.

Recognizing that people with ADHD often face greater levels of stress and frustration, Peggy works with adults and adolescents utilizing techniques from a range of disciplines, such as CBT, mindfulness, and interpersonal skill building that allows her clients to master and overcome the challenges that ADHD can bring. Her experiences from working as a leader for ADHD groups has allowed her to create a unique view of ADHD not only of the challenges that need to be overcome but also viewing the more positive symptoms that can come along with it such as hyper-focus and the unique view of the world that people with various executive function concerns have. Her coaching focuses on assisting clients to build their strengths and foster self-awareness and growth.

Peggy utilizes her experiences working with INOVA in their Comprehensive Addiction Treatment Services, as well as working as group leader at Psych Ed Coaches, working at George Mason University's Career Services Center, and volunteering for the Crisis Hotline in Montgomery county to develop a point of view that brings together a variety of different treatment modalities allowing her to pull in the necessary tools to help each client. She is certified in mental health first aid. Peggy's experiences working with clients in various types of settings allows her to better understand the different areas of concerns each client goes through. Peggy works with clients to help them reach their personal, career, academic, or life goals while understanding the concerns as well as the benefits that come from having ADHD.
